Manchester City Mendy is charged with two counts of rape | Sexual Harassment

Mendy, 27, is facing six counts of rape after being charged with four counts in August.

Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has been charged with two counts of rape in addition to rape and sexual assault, England officials have said.

The 27-year-old has been in jail since August when he asked for bail several times but the judges refused.

Mendy was first charged on August 26, with three counts of rape in October 2020 and a rape in early January this year.

He was also charged with rape in August this year.

This allegedly happened at their home on Withinlee Road in Prestbury, Cheshire.

Another man, Louis Saha Matturie, 40, has been charged with two counts of rape and one count of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

“CPS has allowed Cheshire Constabulary to prosecute two men for further sexual offenses,” the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said Tuesday.

“The Cheshire Constabulary and the Crown Prosecution Service would like to remind everyone that cases … are ongoing and that they have the right to a fair trial,” he said.

Mendy’s lawyers have previously strongly denied the allegations.

They will all appear in Stockport Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, and are due for trial on January 24, 2022.

France international Mendy signed for Manchester City from Ligue 1 AS Monaco in 2017 for a reported £ 52 million ($ 71.32m).

He made his last game for City against Tottenham Hotspur on August 15 and was suspended later that month. The World Cup winner has also won the Premier League three times and the English League Cup twice.
