LG Display says its new ‘OLED EX’ technology adds brightness by up to 30 percent

The LG Display has uncovered The next generation of OLED technology, called “OLED EX,” is expected to “add up to 30 percent more light compared to conventional OLED displays,” the company said. This can help fix the big OLED error nearby mini LED technical, meaning lack of all light.

As the LG Display claims, each OLED pixel emits its own light, meaning it can turn on or off completely. This allows TVs to display black light without the “spread” that appears on LED TVs, but at the same time, OLED pixels cannot illuminate in the same way as LEDs. Current OLED sets can display bright light levels up to about 500-600 nits, while mini LED sets can hit 2,000 nits and beyond.

To illuminate OLED sets, OLED EX (Evolution / eXperience) uses deuterium materials to allow light emitting diodes to emit high-intensity light. “Once stabilized, the deuterium equipment allows the display to emit bright light and retain the best value for a long time,” said LG Display.

OLED EX also allows color accuracy. It seems to use algorithms to predict the use of 33 million OLED diodes on an 8K display, so it “closely monitors the display of the display in more detail as well as the video types being played.”

The company also upgraded its design, reducing the thickness by 30 percent and the size of the bezel from 6 to 4 mm on 65-inch OLED displays. The company has not yet commented on its plans to bring technology to market, but it did see OLED sales up 70 percent last year despite a 12 percent drop in the global TV market. “With our new OLED EX technology, we want to provide more, high-quality customer experience through the development of OLED technology, algorithms and designs,” said Dr. Oh Chang-ho of LG Display.
