16 inch X1 Very much a fan of ThinkPad Macbook Pro—The makers of big, powerful machines, image changers and video enthusiasts. It’s not cheap, but as they say, you get what you pay for. In the case of the X1 Extreme, you earn a lot of money.
The biggest change in this fourth type of Lenovo laptop is the new 16-inch display, with a 16:10 display. The previous model had a ratio of 16: 9. It looks smaller, but in practice, the extra length in the visible area is better; the best part of a laptop. Lenovo now offers a 4K format, which makes it easy to compare these machines with one of our favorites, and Dell XPS 15.
If you love ThinkPads, then there is no comparison with Dell. All the ThinkPad signing features are here. The matte-black design is interspersed with a small X1 red marker on the cover, as well as a red nub between the G, H, and B keys. The ThinkPad keyboards are not what they used to be – these are not X220-but it’s very good. It has 1.8-millimeter keys, which is as heavy as you can get today.
If you’re not a fan of ThinkPad, then you’d love that Dell offers an OPS 15 OLED display mode. It just makes the screen look so good, and it’s a shame Lenovo couldn’t offer it here. But the three IPS displays Lenovo has (one of which is 4K) are very close.
You get more ports on a laptop than Dell: There are two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, along with HDMI 2.1 (capable of running 120-Hz external indicator), audio jack, and AC power port on the left. The right side has two USB Type-A ports and a small SD card slot.
Each laptop should have a small SD card slot, said each artist. I can’t remember the last laptop I tested with a small SD card slot, so thanks to Lenovo for living (and Apple too, although that is why we are in this mess).
Power of RTX
The lack of an OLED panel is disappointing, but the screen I used (2,560 x 1,600 resolution) is interesting. The gamut type support is good, with 100% sRGB coverage and 83.5 percent DCI-P3 type. The result is only 0.5 percent behind the Dell XPS 15 OLED. And the band is brighter at 400 nits.
