How to Share Your Wi-Fi Secret: Android, iPhone, Mac, or Windows

A good host they share Wi-Fi all the time with their guests, but describing networks that you can connect to with a password (if you remember) can be tedious. Maybe you think you remember it, but it doesn’t work and you insist that your visitor should write it wrong. Then it hits you, you’ve been reading your password. Hey, it can happen to anyone.

There is an easy way to provide Wi-Fi connection to your guests. How to Share Your Wi-Fi on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac

Sharing Wi-Fi passwords between Apple devices is easy, but your guest should be mentioned in Your Preferences and vice versa. Once you are on the Share list, make sure iPhones are on iOS 11 or newer, Macs on MacOS High Sierra or later, and iPads on iPadOS. Here’s how to share this:

1. Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices, make sure your Hotspot is turned off, and make sure their device is turned on and off.
2. Your device must be connected to a Wi-Fi network that you want to share. (Connect to a guest network if that’s what you share.)
3. Ask your guest to select your Wi-Fi network from the list of options on their device.
4. You will get a message pop up on your device asking if you want to share your Wi-Fi password.

How to Share Your Wi-Fi on Android

With Android devices, you can use a QR code to share Wi-Fi information, as long as the phones or tablets in question are running Android 10 or later. Here is how:

1. Make sure your device is connected to the Wi-Fi network you want to share and go to Causes, Network and internet (can be called Communication copy your tool), then Wifi.
2. Click on the sign next to your Wi-Fi network.
3. Click the file Share icon on the right and you should see a QR code in the window. (You need to confirm this.)
4. Ask your visitor to see the QR code. You can scan QRs using a regular mobile app with many phones, including iPhones. If your guest has an Android phone, on their device Causes, Communication (or Network and internet), then Wifi. Scroll down to find out where it says Add Network; beside it, you will see a picture of the QR code. Click on it and they can now quickly select the number.

How to Access Your Wi-Fi Secrets on Windows

Microsoft allowed you to share your Wi-Fi with your contacts via another device called Wi-Fi Sense, but it was canceled due to security issues. Sadly, they exist now there is no quick and easy way sharing Wi-Fi passwords from Windows. What I can show you is how to get your Wi-Fi password in Windows:

1. Click on the Windows icon, then Causes gear icon on the left, and select Network and internet.
2. Make sure you are on Condition tab at the top left, then select Network and Sharing Center.
3. Click on your website where it says Connection: Wi-Fi [your network name]. (This will not work if you are connected via Ethernet.)
4. Choose Wireless Area in the window appears.
5. Select the file Security tab and check with Show characters box under Network security key.
6. Ask your visitor to select the appropriate network on their device and enter the password you found.
