Facebook has temporarily shut down ‘Modi’

Facebook has temporarily blocked a search for a hashtag seeking the resignation of the Prime Minister of India. The hashtag #signModi was hidden from Facebook searches, including in the United States, Wednesday. This came just days after Twitter was heavily criticized Criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for supporting the coronavirus epidemic as the COVID-19 crime wave is wreaking havoc on the country.

A Facebook spokesman confirmed the hashtag was no longer valid and said “we are investigating what happened.” In the past, information on Facebook has revealed that the hashtag was hidden for violating corporate policy, but did not specify which one it was. The hashtag currently has at least 12,000 posts, according to Facebook.
