Traeger buys a wireless electric Meater

A clever grill maker Traeger has purchased the wireless power company Meater, which it says is the next step in creating “final connected information.” Traeger allows users to monitor and control grills connected via a smartphone or Apple Penyani. Bringing Meater to the yard will help people to accurately calculate the temperature of their food almost anywhere, Traeger said.

Meater manufactures several Bluetooth and WiFi thermometers, while Traeger currently only sells thermometers. Traeger said this would help “to gain entry into the neighboring market with state-of-the-art equipment.” It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. However, it would not be surprising to see Traeger incorporate Meater calculators into his programs to cook outdoors without seamless.
