Apple is still fighting Russia App Store rape. All 9 to 5mc and RT Apple is requesting a review of the Federal Antimonopoly Service warning since August that allows manufacturers to specify alternative payment methods in the App Store. FAS gave Apple until September 30 to change its policy, but the company refused to change its rules despite the threat of fines.
The plaintiffs are similar to Apple’s legal battles in the US. Epic judge against Apple ordered a technical company allowing App Store developers to point out other payment methods, but Apple appealed the decision I expect a delay. Court denies Apple’s request, and the company will have until December 9 to allow developers to review other options. Apple will make it contrary to its structure for other deep media programs in 2022.
Deficits like those in the US and Russia are not surprising. Apple still makes most of its revenue through hardware marketing, but its own business activity is growing. Some simple third-party methods may cost the App Store money, not to mention increasing the chances of fraudulent apps targeting users of malicious pages.
