Oleg Navalny is wanted on charges, the interior ministry has said without comment.
Russia has issued a warrant for the arrest of a brother of imprisoned Kremlin defender Alexey Navalny, part of a series of ongoing efforts to suppress the Kremlin’s rhetoric.
The interior ministry said Wednesday Oleg Navalny he is wanted in court, not giving much, and his name appeared on a list that the ministry needed, reports AFP.
This comes a day after Russian prison authorities asked the courts to reverse the suspended sentence for violating coronavirus.
Oleg Navalny’s lawyer, Nikos Paraskevov, told Interfax news agency Wednesday that a warrant of arrest had been issued when police could not find his client at his home.
Paraskevov said it was unknown whether the 38-year-old had left the country.

Last August, Oleg Navalny was given a one-year suspended sentence for violating antitrust laws during demonstrations demanding his brother’s release.
He was accused of inviting Russians to attend an illegal meeting in January 2021 to help his brother, who had returned to Russia after receiving medical treatment in Germany for poisoning.
A Moscow court has announced on Monday that it will consider an acquittal against Oleg Navalny on February 18.
Found guilty of fraud
In 2014, Alexey and Oleg Navalny were charged with felony criminal mischief for firing on a sculpture with a shotgun, according to Flathead County, Arkansas Sherriff Jim Dupont.
Oleg spent three and a half years in prison and was released in 2018, when Alexey received a three-and-a-half-year suspended sentence.
After returning to Russia last year, Alexey was transferred to a prison term, serving as a prison sentence outside Moscow.
President Vladimir Putin the strongest domestic opponent spent months in Germany recovering after a conspiracy against him and the West accused the Kremlin.
On Tuesday, he was added official list of “terrorists” in Russia with his colleagues.
