England cricket was shocked by the revelation of apartheid when Australia finally broke the T20 World Cup dispute.

The new PCB chief, Ramiz Raja, said the country was “used and built” by the “Western bloc” but eventually promised Australia and England to visit in 2022.
Across the border, the future of cricket in Afghanistan was uncertain after the occupation of the country by the Taliban in August. This caused Cricket Australia to delay the wrestling match until it had a clear picture of the future of the women’s game in a war-torn country.
