Earlier on Thursday, the Dubai government released a statement saying the emergency services had started a fire. Authorities posted a video on the fire station, extinguishing large container containers.
The light of the fire appeared in the background while security personnel were working on fire protection.
The extent of the damage to the growing port and surrounding cargo was not immediately known. The cause of the fire is not immediately known.
Port officials said “they are taking all necessary measures to ensure the smooth running of the ship without interruption”.
Mona al-Marri, the head of the DMO, told Al-Arabiya TV that this “could happen anywhere in the world” and that the state communications office was working to provide immediate information to stop the rumors from spreading if the cause of the fire was investigated.
The official said the ship, which was not identified, was planning to board another vehicle “away from the main port of the port”.
