Tuesday, July 27, the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that people with the vaccine should wear masks in public places where cases of the disease are rising.
In addition to the new guidelines, the CDC recommends that K-12 grade children go to school on their own while continuing to wear masks inside.
Why is the CDC doing this?
The announcement comes after a growing epidemic of delta diversity, a highly contagious type of covid that was first discovered in India earlier this year. The new policy may seem like a no-brainer, but Rochelle Walensky, Director of the CDC, explained that the council’s decision was not taken lightly.
“Our ideas and our ideas are based on science,” Walensky told a news conference. “The diversity of the delta shows every day his willingness to deceive us and to be fortunate in places where we have not shown a bold response.”
In May, the delta accounted for only 2% of follow-up cases in the US, but today 82% of these cases have different types of infections, according to Johns Hopkins.
Does the change affect me?
Probably (if you live in the US). More than 63% of U.S. citizens are experiencing what the CDC calls “high shipping prices,” meaning that new information could be applied there. How does delta diversity spread?
The CDC believes that people who are not vaccinated are spreading the virus. But often, people with the vaccine get sick and probably spread the disease, even though their cases are very serious. In the past the plague, a person with covid could infect 2.5 others, on average. But with delta differences, one virus causes about six more.
