Volkswagen will launch European fire trucks between 2033 and 2035, one of the company’s members said. He plans to do the same in the US and China later and in South America and Africa beyond that.

Interview with a German retail store Merkur.de published this week, Volkswagen board director Klaus Zellmer set out the company’s map to eliminate a burning engine in several parts. Zellmer said that, as a volume maker, the company’s use of burning technology took a number of changes in various areas, according to Google’s interpretation of the questions.

Zellmer pointed out that competitors who sell cars in Europe, for example, will have to deal with minor problems when it comes to change because of clear political guidelines.

“We have set clear goals. We will stop all CO2 shipping from taking place by 2050 soon, “says Zellmer. In South America and Africa, due to the lack of politics and infrastructure, it can take a long time. ”

In April, a The European Union has announced it says it is increasing its target of reducing emissions by 55% from 40% by 2030 compared to preparing for zero emissions by 2050.

While the company is planning to get out of the burning oil business, Zellmer told Merkur.de that burning technology will be needed for several years. He added that the company would continue to invest in its operations, including diesel. Zellmer said diesel is a problem, but that there were drivers who needed diesel, such as customers with high mileage.

On the issue of electric vehicles, Zellmer said Volkswagen wants to increase its total sales by 70% by 2030 in Europe.

This announcement is the latest in a long line of automakers making changes in their products due to the ongoing crisis in our world. For example, Ford has stated that it will selling electric cars only in Europe by 2030, and will destroy $ 1 billion transforming its factory in Cologne, Germany into its first electric car manufacturer in Europe. General Motors stocks to end the development of electric vehicles, lightweight by 2035 and ready to be neutrality by the year 2040. And Honda will say it will happen stop selling gas-fired vehicles in 2040.

Gizmodo spoke with Volkswagen to comment on Zellmer’s negotiations but did not receive a response at the time of writing. We’ll make sure we update this blog if we hear.
