To get into its own network for minutes, Vilo routers support IEEE 802.11a / b / g / n / ac. No recent support ax standard, also known as Wi-Fi 6. This is not a big deal considering that you need to upgrade all your devices to be able to use Wi-Fi 6, but it would be great in addition to the future display. Security wise, does not use the latest WPA3 software, but WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access 2) instead. Like Wi-Fi 6, WPA3 is still relatively new, so this is no surprise. But it makes passwords difficult to hack and connect with non-viewing tools easily and securely, which is why the change you want.
Each router has a few small antennas and supports multiple controls, multiple inputs, multiple outputs (MU-MIMO), which allows you to handle multiple router connecting devices at the same time. There is also a beamforming to check the wireless signal on the devices.
The Vilo system runs the buttons seamlessly, which means it selects a band (2.4 GHz or 5GHz) that it thinks is suitable for any device, but both look like the same name. Fortunately, the Vilo allows you to change the control bands, so you can split the bands, which I created for a while to re-install.
Your mileage varies depending on your plan. The only drawback I have is the internet speed coming to my house, but the Vilo system does a great job of bandwidth the existing bandwidth, and I was not randomly turned off for three weeks of testing. That doesn’t mean I don’t have any problems.
Catching
The program is slow, but it is slow to release or change when you change. Sometimes it only takes a few minutes for you to adjust to your current situation. Even if you modify something well, it may take a while for it to get better.
In preparation, in order to avoid reconnection with most of my home devices, I planned to give the Vilo system the same name and password as my Wi-Fi network. Unfortunately, it refused to accept the password and did not respond. The good news is that it was a mistake for a company that quickly repaired via firmware.
There is no way to force a connection to a particular router. This is not really a problem, as the devices are connected in a very close-up way at high speeds, but my desktop PC still connects to a router remotely on a 2.4-GHz band instead of getting close to the 5-GHz band as I might expect. The firmware update also caused this, although it sometimes connects to the router upstream.
Since the company is relatively new, it is not uncommon to see a few kinks like this, but it is interesting to see Vilo working closely with them. Hopefully, this will continue throughout the router.
