A friend takes me on a tour of LA’s Atwater Village. Similar to eye contact on a bar, it is possible to see the surrounding area temporarily and appropriately to know. Adult discussions that I have with people without children. They read a lot, they go a lot, they walk a lot and (due to lack of mental distractions, I’m stressed, not intelligent) notice a lot. If you like to enjoy this session, imagine that half of the ideas come from these gadabouts. The idea that we love each other so much is exchanging dirty news in front of Leeds vs Arsenal and Nick Hornby’s lies.
Instead, in character and movement, bachelors are often synonymous with the word spinster. They are decorative, almost always, born with a hint of odor, dots and a lot of chaos of a house filled with children. Based on the word “son-in-law”, each one I think is older than his passport age. The expression seems to fit perfectly with round shoulders and very clean T-shirts, not to mention scatological anecdotes, about fatherhood.
It is a mistake to conclude that Eros is the guardian of singleness. In many cases, it is the promise of greater control over their lives (plus, often not, the choice to be private). I know in detail the list of cities I want to go through this decade, and in what order. No one with dependents can be very fast or smart. Anything used here, is not id. Of course, it should be only a matter of time before you realize that most bachelors have already done the ritual. There is no greater cause for self-control than abandoning an exciting relationship because it hinders certain calls in life.
A case of self-respect is better. If anything, those who make it do not know how true it is, or why. If you do not have to do anything that does not reflect your passions at the moment – do not run to school, do not cook – you start to tolerate such things in your time. And so, perverting the system of things, I become more self-centered at 39 than I was at 24. By age 50, I would refuse even counting middle age as a compulsion.
But self-respect is not the same as foolishness. Egoism is not the same as immaturity. The accepted concept of childhood (“Oh, you guys”) does not necessarily mean that you usually want more life, not less. Even her admiration for married-but-interested misses the point. Our minds grow as our commitments diminish.
