Magdalena Andersson’s tenure as Sweden’s first female prime minister lasted seven hours as Scandinavia plunged into political turmoil on a spectacular day in Stockholm.

The Greens withdrew from the protests after parliament refused to support the government’s plans and instead adopted a budget made by the opposition, the Swedish Democrats and two major right-wing parties.
