The latest Instagram test is… telling people about the Facebook app

[ad_1]

Instagram is trying something new to tell users about another app they might want to know: Facebook. The photo sharing app tests the information at the top of the user’s menu which encourages them to view what is “just available” on Facebook.

“We are trying to inform people who have linked their Instagram accounts to Facebook to find out about the features available there, such as how to find a job, stay online, buy and sell goods, or access the latest news,” the Prophet said in a statement.

That the company is using one of the billions of users to promote another billion-dollar program may not seem logical, but it is the most recent (and perhaps most brutal) way on which social networking sites use Instagram to drive people back to its mainstay. The company has been bringing the two programs regularly and I have been encouraging users to connect with their accounts. (A book published last year quoted Mark Zuckerberg The success of Instagram is worrying that the app could “feed” Facebook. Conflicts between him and the founders of the program eventually led to their dismissal in 2018.)

Facebook claims to be a “very small group” of Instagram users who have already decided to link their accounts and who will see the messages, which can be deleted. But while that may not go unnoticed, it can be said that the company does not deal with their efforts to use Instagram to spend more time on Facebook.
