Amazon Shopping for MGM it may take longer than you planned. More sources says the Federal Trade Commission has launched a “in-depth” investigation into the purchase of MGM in Amazon on possible human rights abuses. Officials are concerned about the opportunity to “illegally assist” the Amazon group in providing goods and services, not just what is available.
MGM declined to comment. We asked Amazon to answer.
Research cannot be completely unexpected. The FTC and the Department of Justice agreed to review the agreement while Big Tech opponent Lina Khan was called FTC seat. Amazon has been waiting for a breakup, and it has gotten to that point ask Khan to remove him cases are coming. She is not expected to kneel during the MGM examination.
This does not mean that the FTC will close the deal. It can force a purchase, however, and it can delay the final contract by several months. It took over a year for Google to do that complete access to Fitbit – Amazon has to wait for the right time for MGM, and this is given that there are no major obstacles.
