Activision Blizzard CEO decides to leave if problems cannot be resolved quickly

Bobby Kotick says he would consider resigning as CEO of Activision Blizzard if he could not address the company’s cultural problems quickly. According to , Kotick held a meeting last week about senior management at Blizzard Entertainment where he said he was “ashamed” of some of the incidents at the studio when he was CEO. He said he went to apologize for his actions when he was told that some employees would not be satisfied unless he resigned. According to Magazines, Kotick relinquished his opportunity to resign if he could not immediately “fix” the company’s problems.

The call for Kotick to step down has been steadily increasing since then The Wall Street Journal last week he is said to have learned a lot about the sexual harassment that took place at the company over the years. According to the report, Kotick has also been charged with harassment of women, including another verbal case in which he allegedly threatened to kill his assistant.

Since then, a group of has also asked for Kotick to step down. In the junk emails, the titles of and both of them said they were concerned with the comments that came out of the publisher. Finally, Phil Spencer reportedly told staff that he was “reviewing all aspects of our relationship with Activision Blizzard and making continuous changes.”

One group of Kotick seems to have lost no support among Activision Blizzard’s director boards. On the same day Magazines released its report, the company’s agency said it “remains confident that Bobby Kotick has responded appropriately to the employment issues he has raised.”
