The settlement is “very strong” because it restricts Amazon’s ability to make it difficult for employees to prepare, as well as reduce their time in the company when they are not working, says Janice Fine, a professor of labor studies at Rutgers University. . Employees in the tech industry in recent years have become increasingly vocal about their employers’ writing on issues such as migration and climate change. Amazon has faced a number of operational complaints since the outbreak began.
