Samsung’s QD Display tech wants to launch bright, clear OLED TVs

[ad_1]

Samsung is well known for its QLED TVs but at CES 2022, after years of hype, the company’s Display company unveiled its new QD-OLED technology and promises to get the best of both worlds. OLED TVs from LG. This technology is different from your regular OLED because you only use blue organic emitting diodes. Those diodes emit light that they produce through a number of quantum dots, which allow the unit to emit all of the most visible color in human eyes. This method has many advantages.

The most notable feature, especially when compared to modern OLED displays, is that the panel can be very illuminated. In the demo observed at CES, one show emitted more than 1,000 light on a 10 percent window. By comparison, some of the more recent TVs from LG are able to produce between 700 nits and 1,000 nits of light in the same area. Light is something that LG has tried to combat with its WOLD panels. In December, the exhibition company unveiled “”Technology, claiming that it can produce up to 30 percent more light than conventional OLED screens.

Another advantage of technology is the quality of the product. Samsung Display panels displayed at CES 2022 covered 90 percent of the Rec. 2020 type gamut. LG’s WOLED screens, which people always praise for their precise and clear colors, hit about 70 percent of Rec’s. 2020 standard. Finally, viewing angles are adjusted. In addition to TVs, technology is developing ways to watch games, while Samsung and Dell plan to use technology in 34-inch display.

We’ll see how panels work in the real world, but on paper, QD-OLED could be the new standard for high-end TV. One of the first companies to produce a QD-OLED TV with Sony with its own set. Unfortunately, Sony did not announce how much the TVs would cost, and we do not know until we are about to release them in the spring.
