Recent updates: Covid cases in the US reached 50m on the eve of vaccination day

U.S. Covid-19 cases since the plague lasted 50m, according to a study by Johns Hopkins University on Monday, the evening of the country’s first vaccination day.

The prevalence of the disease is similar to that of the country’s largest health organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which confirmed approximately 49.75m cases as they have changed recently on Sunday afternoon, more than in any other country.

The Cold flu outbreak of the Covid-19 has seen the U.S. population last week reach nearly 120,000, the highest since the end of September. This should push the CDC volume across the epidemic to over 50m when it releases new figures on Monday.

The US has reached its most recent peak of disease about a year after the country began vaccinating. The first dose was given to a critically ill nurse in New York on December 14 2020.

In the past year, a 484m vaccine has been introduced in the US. About 202 million Americans, or 60.8 percent of the general population, have received adequate immunizations, and 26.6 percent of the group also received an active shot.

A further 1.6m vaccination dose was given daily last week, the highest level since the end of May. U.S. health officials are urging people to get vaccinated in the winter months and during the holidays, which often include home meetings and travel.

Concerns about Omicron’s new strain of coronavirus and the decline in vaccine safety received earlier in the year may also have contributed to the rise in doses.

The number of deaths in the US related to Covid-19 since the outbreak first reached 797,916, according to Johns Hopkins University, or 793,937 according to CDC data.
