Recent updates: Apple is reinstating mask requirements in US retail stores

Apple will also need masks to wear in all its US retail stores to combat the growing Covid-19 virus across the country.

The company changed on Tuesday, when its sales pages said they needed a face mask to visit the site, regardless of whether they were vaccinated.

“We are monitoring the situation regularly and will improve the way we live in stores to serve our customers and employees,” Apple said in an email to Financial Times.

“In the midst of the growing crime rate in many areas, we want all customers to join our team in wearing masks when visiting our retail outlets.”

In recent weeks, Apple has abolished the shell requirements for customers in many US states, complying with local regulations thus providing coverage to the faces of visitors to about half of the sites within its retail network.

However, the daily risks of Covid-19 across the country have begun to rise, especially in cold climates where people spend long hours indoors.

The US has increased more than 116,000 new cases of Covid-19 per day last week, according to a study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That represents an increase of more than 80 percent from a three-month decline at the end of October, but has dropped by about 29 percent from major summer hikes compared to more than 200,000 prices a day this time last year.

A number of countries, including Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Oregon and Washington, have the responsibility of wearing masks, requiring residents to wear face masks in public places, regardless of whether they are vaccinated. The same requirement will take effect Wednesday in the Apple state in California.
