Recent Coronavirus: California to delay the adoption of a new CDC guideline

California will refrain from following the recently updated guidelines from the US Department of Health and Human Services on the use of face masks by people with complete immunizations.

The implementation of the new guidelines, announced last week by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will be delayed until June 15, with Mark Ghaly, the state health officer, summoning reporters on Monday.

This will give businesses time to make the necessary changes and allow more people to receive the vaccine, he said, and it coincides with a day when Governor Gavin Newsom wants to remove almost all government coronavirus restrictions.

Since the CDC said on May 13 that it is good for people who are completely vaccinated leave masks in almost all internal and external areas, ambassadors have adopted various measures to deal with them.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said Monday that the ban on public space patrols (where distances are not possible) would be lifted immediately. The requirement to cover the face in public places will remain valid, but Murphy said this should be discarded “very soon”.

Neighbors in New York have adopted the CDC’s directives since May 19, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced earlier today, even though local businesses and territories are allowed to make their own laws. This coincides with a day when many anti-coronavirus vaccines in the three states (Connecticut, New Jersey and New York) should be lifted, but Cuomo has already acknowledged that those governments may not have the same attitude “because we are so short-lived”.

Pennsylvania also said last Friday, too, it would allow businesses to still have the opportunity to require people to be vaccinated to wear face masks, but non-vaccinated people will also have to comply with state law, which will increase once 70% of adult Pennsylvanian vaccines are fully vaccinated.

Some countries have moved quickly following the CDC guidelines. Last week Colorado abandoned its national beauty pageant, and approached it in collaboration with the people of Texas, who have abandoned the essentials of face masks in March.

Colorado has made nearly 22 new cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 people daily last week, the highest number among U.S. states, according to a CDC report. California, where officials are waiting to release masks, has brought a person in seven days down to less than four a day, the third-lowest in the country.
