Poland has recently been the country to send weapons to help Ukraine deal with a possible Russian offensive while Kyiv also said it was preparing for a major increase in its military forces.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced the sending to Ukraine on a flight to Kyiv on Tuesday. “We are ready to provide Ukraine with tens of thousands of weapons and ammunition, as well as high-level Grom equipment and lightweight mortar, as well as drones,” Morawiecki said.

Shmyhal said his country hopes “to be able to initiate a new regional agreement between Ukraine, Poland and Great Britain under Russian violence”.
“We need to sign a three-party agreement and promote regional security,” he said without elaborating.
Shipping of Polish weapons comes after UK last month gave Ukraine and thousands of NLAW anti-tank busters and other weapons. The US last year provided $ 650mn in aid to the Ukrainian military, in addition to the $ 2.7bn it has provided since the war in eastern Ukraine began in 2014.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also said on Tuesday that the country would add 100,000 professional troops to 261,000 troops, and increase military compensation to quell the Russian uprising. An increase in the number of troops is planned for three years.
Zelensky signed an appropriate presidential decree on Tuesday, telling parliament that he was doing this “not because war is coming, but for peace”.

Zelensky added that peace talks around the world are on the rise and he wants international cooperation.
