Very good
Western Digital Elements hard drive
Photo: Western DigitalI know this book belongs to to carry hard drives, and this is impossible to carry, but bear with me. For additional backups, what we recommend, carrying is not the most important thing in your life. And as usual, your backup program expires at the same time, its speed is not very important. This is why the first drive I make is with Western Digital Elements.
I have been using several WD Elements hard drive types to make my backup storage for over a decade. They are large and require external power, but these are some of the cheapest, most reliable cars I have ever used. See also prices on major drives; sometimes you can get a 6- or 8-terabyte drive at most.
Some of the best drivers:
- Seagate Desktop HDD 4 TB Growth ($ 95): Seagate is another reliable manufacturer. It doesn’t hurt to have multiple backups, and if you want multiple backups, use drives from a variety of sources, as it reduces the chances of them all failing at the same time.
- Western Digital Elements 4-TB Carrier HDD ($ 105): If you are not interested in spending more money, you can have a car of the same size in a simple way that does not require external power. The 4-terabyte model is usually sold for as little as $ 100.
The Best Car
Essential X6 possible SSD
Photo: ImportantThese drives are the ones I like to carry. They have lower prices (SSD portable) and higher speeds. The only car I tried and read quickly was the Samsung T7 (see below), and it costs $ 90 more. This is lightweight, which means it is essential when working away from home. I use one to save videos, and I change them enough to change from disk. The only thing is to make plastic. Do not expect it to survive many drops.
Very good
Samsung T7 compatible SSD
Photo: SamsungIf money is nothing, and all you care about is the speed, these drivers from Samsung contradict everything I tried. They are lightweight but have metal locks that make them impervious. Fish is the price. The highest gigabyte cost is this. If you want to carry and urgently, you have to pay.
Another quick way: Seagate One Touch SSD ($ 300 for 2 TB) we pulled very close to our speed test on the back of the Samsung T7, and it’s a little cheaper.
Drives To Somewhere
OWC Pro Elektron Server
Photo: OWCIf you want a car that can stand life is wallet or camera bag, wetting, or dealing with a drop in a solid surface, OWC transport is ideal. It’s hard to choose the winner here because there are so many choices, but OWC’s Elektron drive beats a bit more on similar tests. I also like that you can switch and drive inside aluminum containers (it is easy to unload), which means that two years from now, you can take an empty SSD and leave it in Elektron.
Alternative: I really like Sabrent Rocket Nano SSD ($ 159 for 1 TB). It’s smaller and a little faster than OWC above, but it has two drawbacks. The first is that it can actually heat up. If you’re trying to get involved with your legs, it can be really annoying. Another problem is that sometimes it slows down the recognition of my PC. I didn’t find any kind of this; sometimes it appears immediately, sometimes it only takes a few minutes. If that doesn’t bother you, the car is smaller, cheaper, and comes with a rubber bag.
Very Good Transport
Any of the above driving is a solid solution for people who need to make stocks in the field, such as artists and photographers. But if you want more comfort, driving from LaCie has always been a favorite of travelers. LaCie produces SSD type as well as drive type. If speed is not a problem, as in the case of night storage, then cheap car it makes sense. If you are standing in the middle of photos or something that needs to be done quickly, the SSD type is what you want.
Hard Buying Advice
Getting the right hard drive brings three things: speed, growth, and price. If you’re making stocks every night, then running and size probably doesn’t matter. Go for the cheapest car you can find – up to date. The Drives do not last forever, but some live much longer than others. I recommend sticking to well-known brands like Seagate, Western Digital, Toshiba, and others mentioned here. This depends on the experience and perhaps on the distractions that Backblaze has have been publishing for years now. Going back across multiple complex drives that back up customer data, and their report should be readable. Removal is easy: Have names you know.
If speed is crazy, then you want to focus on a solid drive. SSDs not only have the ability to run, they also have moving parts, which means they will withstand the rigors and fall of life in the pocket on the road rather than the steering wheel. The simple fact is that they can fade quickly. Any SSD-encoding function – that is, when you save something – slightly reduces the NAND-type cells that make up the drive, which runs a little faster than the drive. Its speed depends on how you use it. That said, I have several SSDs over the age of 5, and I have been using them on a daily basis all this time. No one was in trouble.
When would you need an SSD drive? The answer is often yes – if you can afford it. But especially for any drive you work with on a regular basis: your main boot drive, the external hard drive that you use to convert documents from, and even backup storage if you want it to happen quickly.
