Now, let’s get into all the new features in MacOS Monterey.

FaceTime update

MacOS Monterey enhances high-definition video and audio features in FaceTime (many of which can be accessed via the Control Center in the upper right corner of the menu bar). For example, you can use Portrait mode on your dial-ups — in addition to the unobtrusive background to hide problem rooms. The new grid view also makes it easy to see everyone singing at the same time. Most importantly, you can invite your friends using Android or Windows tools to join them in the call by sending them a link. Must use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

When it comes to audio, you can switch between Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum microphones. Voice Isolation works best when you are in a noisy environment because it tries to block out more. Wide Spectrum, on the other hand, absorbs all the noise in your space. This can be useful if the whole family wants a happy birthday for Grandma.

If you have a Mac1-powered MacBook and current AirPods, you can also take advantage of Apple’s new features. During the FaceTime group chat, you will hear people ‘voices following their position on the group; and Apple’s attempt to make the song sound better, as if people were with you in the room.

Live Text

If you have iOS 15 or iPadOS 15, you may already know Live Text. Using the rear camera on these devices, you can stream and copy notes via the viewer. Is there a word in the picture? Just pick it with your finger. You can apply this text to programs like Notes and iMessage. Each time it detects a phone number or address, it gives you the opportunity to dial the number or put the address in the Map. This is now available in MacOS. It does not work with the front camera on your Mac, but you can still use it to copy notes to photos and put them elsewhere. Recognize phone numbers and pages.

Focus Mode

Are you easily distracted? Apple’s new Focus mode gives you the opportunity to create profiles that reduce notifications and notifications on your Mac. You have the option to choose your preferences – Uninterrupted, Travel, Drive, Personal, Sleep, and Task – or add a new profile to hobbies such as reading or playing. There are also settings that only alert people to iMessage when you have Focus mode (to prevent them from sending you messages). When you turn on Focus, it restarts your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch (though you can turn it off if you want). You can read more about how to apply here.

Shortcuts

Available in iOS and iPadOS 13, the Shortcuts app now available on Mac. You can use pre-installed shortcuts such as “Relax” or “Shazam Shortcut” or find what you have already done on your iPhone and iPad. For example, I can find my shortcut “Turn off the TV” for Apple TV in my room and my shortcut “Turn the kettle up to 100 degrees Celsius” on my smart kettle directly on my MacBook. Mac workflow via desktop editor.

iCloud +

If you have subscribed to iCloud, then you have already been upgraded to iCloud + at no additional cost. This function gives you access to My Hide Email (which generates burning email addresses to reduce spam in your inbox) and enhances HomeKit Secure Video support. It also includes iCloud Private Relay (currently in beta and the latest version is coming soon) – something that hides your browsing history in Safari to keep your data safe, similar to virtual Private network.

Shared With You

If your friends and relatives like to send you links and photos more throughout the week, this helps to keep everything in order. When you open apps like Messages, Photos, Safari, Apple Music, and Apple News, you will see a site called Shared With You. That is where all that is sent to you will be, full of the name of the one who sent it. That way, you can read the long post that Dad posted after work, or read photos of your grandchildren over the weekend.

Quick Note

With a simple Quick Note feature, finding the Notes app is easy. Just move the cursor to the right hand corner or use the Globe + Q keys to unlock Quick Notification. You can insert links, images, and more. It is best to write something quickly. MacOS Monterey is also compatible with new operating systems released in iOS and iPadOS 15. Similar to Google Docs, you can add people to know how to edit and edit (which you can see in real time).

Groups Safari Tab

Do you have ideas for your tabs? Well, here’s your side. You can create Tab Groups that will not only create all the open tabs and make your Safari window look better. Using the Group Tab button, you can specify a group based on categories such as Purchase or Activity, and add tabs to each category. The interface is connected to all your Apple devices, so you will always have your Tab Groups.
