NASA is attempting to improve Alexa’s voice in the work of Artemis I

Alexa will be the first voice assistant to be available via Earth. Amazon and Lockheed Martin have it revealed NASA will carry Alexa to the surface Artemis I use launching later in 2022. Although the aircraft was not designed, companies are planning a “personnel event” at NASA’s Johnson Space Center that will allow people in Mission Control (including students and special guests) to mimic the dialogue between a digital aide and astronaut.

This is a lot harder than Alexa on your own Echo speaker. Alexa will have access to more information about Orion spacecraft telemetry, answering “thousands” of questions related to missions as well as control tools such as house lighting. Amazon has developed its algorithms to focus on Orion’s acoustics. The connection to the atmosphere should not be a problem. Callisto’s professional payroll that carries Alexa allows for local voice control (even without internet access) and access Deep Space Network giving a talk at home.

Action is not just about touch boasting or bring a Star Trek– Change computer for life. Amazon will use the lessons learned from Artemis First to create Alexa on future themes as well as for everyday users, especially those without internet access. The company is also adding new Alexa features that give you access to Artemis I telemetry, photos, videos (including live streaming) and notifications of important topics.

Amazon hopes to boost the next wave of space explorers in this regard. The move helps Amazon to tarnish its image, yes, but it can be very rewarding if it encourages more students to work for space companies.
