Microsoft has agreed to acquire Activision Blizzard, a video game developer, for about $ 68.7bn, plus all the money, at a much higher price than the technology company founded by Bill Gates.

Under the agreement, Microsoft pays those who own the company behind the game such as Call of Duty, Warcraft and Candy Crush $ 95 per share, 45 percent on its closing price last week.

It is the most recent trading platform in the gaming industry. Last week Take-Two Interactive, a popular producer Grand Theft Auto game list, he admitted buy fellow Zynga, the manufacturer of FarmVille and Words and Friends, at $ 12.7bn.

“Games is a fun and exciting team in every sport these days and it contributes a lot to the creation of the platform,” said Satya Nadella, chairman and CEO of Microsoft.

“We are investing heavily in global, local and cloud services to usher in a new gaming era that puts players and developers ahead and makes the game safer, more integrated and accessible to all.”

Activision shares rose 37 percent in initial sales after the announcement.
