Those who were brave enough to bring down Windows 11 perhaps he realized that, although the new OS is much more beautiful than the previous one, some connections have become established in the stone age.

If I were in charge of Windows 10 things that needed to be improved, File Explorer, Device Manager, and Control Panel would be my top three. The file storage program received much-needed attention, but Windows ignored the other two. While everyday users may not be able to slip in Device Driver, the Control Panel is the first place some people go when they want to change any preferences.

Instead of redesigning this portion of the legacy, Microsoft appears to be deleting its share. In the removal process of Windows Control Panel, Microsoft moved the network settings to a new location within the Settings application. Here, you will find ways to share network access, share files and printer, and share folders.

Microsoft commented on the transfer of power in release notes for Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22509:

  • We have moved shared preferences (such as Network discovery, File and printer, and shared folders) to a new page in the Settings app under Advanced Network Settings.
  • We’ve modified some of the device’s specific pages under the Printer & Scanners in Tuner to show the details of your printer or scanner directly in Tuner when available.
  • Some of the basics of network preferences and tools in the Control Panel will now return to the corresponding pages in Settings.

Not only that, but the download links and updates that took you to the Control Panel are now directing you to the Settings app (Preferences> Windows Update> Profile Change).

With the Settings menu now containing Windows 11 essential functions, the Control Panel seems small. Some options remain in the old program for start-up purposes, but it is beginning to feel like Microsoft will take over Contr soonol Panel removes health care without irritating the few “pro” users who still use it.
