Lenovo Legion 5 Pro Review: You can’t argue cheap
[ad_1]
There’s something a bit of a change to the high-end gaming machines made with suit-and-tie PCs. The idea of Lenovo, file makers a Think, Making a game-ready response machine sounds amazing, but the Legion 5 Pro is the same. A special Walmart brand that I estimate its value $ 1,530, along with AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800H and NVIDIA graphics for GeForce RTX 3070. Solid and affordable? That’s almost a change.
Around the list are 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. Kindly, both components are flexible. This car driver may not have several Responsibilities before completing external. But these are the kind of smart screens that Lenovo has chosen to reduce the cost, allowing you to increase the RAM and storage capacity as needed.
Goodness
- Ryzen 7 and RTX 3070 for $ 1530
- Fast and great on the game
- I / O buckets.
Bad
- The battery life of Baaaaaad
- It is very hot when it is heavy with heavy loads
And there is the screen, 16-inch, 165Hz QHD, X-Rite Pantone-certified IPS display, a new 16:10 high-frequency display. At 500 frames, the band can stand alone in light compared to most of its competitors, and the matte texture reduces the risk of light. Watching 4K video on this thing is a lot of fun and I’m excited to be working on this device in the last week or so I’ve been using it. This makes you want to spend a lot of time looking at gigapixel photos of, say, Paris, which I haven’t been in for a long time this week (cough).
Lenovo was not looking to pull any price with this design, which only adds to the already existing experience. It is not as thin or light as its rivals, and it looks great in a dark room with only the light of the RGB keyboard and the subtle Nanoleaf band. But if you are buying a replacement for a desktop that can use 90 percent of its downtime on the same desk, that’s fine. Oh, and the aluminum chassis is very durable, giving you confidence in the experience you have to take it elsewhere. The gray-haired, well-to-do job hides many date palms, but it attracts dust up to two miles[3 km]away.
Legion 5 Pro chassis also means you get a good I / O to go around. It features four USB-A (3.2 Gen 1) connectors, two USB-C connectors (3.2 Gen 2), HDMI, Ethernet and a 3.5mm headphone / microphone jack, as well as an electronic port. On the right-hand side, you’ll also find a camera button, which replaces the dedicated shutter from previous versions.
Even after a few days of use, using the Lenovo TrueStrike keyboard remains a fun but amazing experience. The keys have a depth of 1.5mm, but Lenovo uses a “soft switch” to make every device deeper than that. Each time you press a key, you expect a powerful vibration of the keyboard, to get the final result and restart. It’s like filling your shoes with water on a hot day and getting in: It’s helpful, but your brain tells you something is wrong here.
It is worth noting that Lenovo used the ship size of the Legion 5 plus the keyboard number. The company says that the same numpad is perfect, but in my eyes and fingers, it sounds a bit slower compared to the external PC keyboard. RGB lighting may have been adjusted accordingly, but it can be set up in four light areas if needed. Trackpad, meanwhile, works well, and great growth is welcome due to how strong the previous models have been.
I don’t have much to say about the 720p processor, so it’s really helpful. The light is liberating, everything is unpleasant and all the effects are what is shown on 60s TVs when they find Vaseline lenses painted nearby. If you are looking to earn money by searching, or you are a Zoom-call-haver specialist, buy an external tool. Poor webcams aside, Lenovo received the software to create a dedicated camera button as there was no room in the starving cover for his custom outfit.

Signs do not tell the whole story, but the Legion 5 Pro comes close to machines that cost hundreds of dollars. When you play a tough AAA game like Cyberpunk and Shade of Tomb Raider, I reached between 50 and 60fps with proper configuration. Naturally, you lose a little bit when you can illuminate the rays, but it can work very well. The Legion 5 Pro has three pre-set modes on how to use the Vantage, or cycling when you hit Fn + Q. One of the best features is that the power button changes color depending on the color you are sitting on: The cars provide a bright light, cool blue hues, and reddish hues.
Using a machine like this for a large harvest project is like buying an F-150 to buy a seed box, but it is possible. Other than that, if all you have to do is sit down and do some paperwork, scribble paper, search pages and use Slack, that’s enough. When you transfer a 28.2GB UHD H.265 video file to 1080p, Handbrake was able to go through over 40 fps, making it strong enough even for medium video editors.
The Legion 5 Pro uses a dual-component exhaust system that releases hot air from its vehicle through the exhaust quartet. The two rear clocks are paired with one side, and if you’re not blessed with plenty of room, be careful. Leave your hand, mouse, toy handkerchief or drink near one of them for a long time and feel the heat. Play Cyberpunk and Shade of Tomb Raider i was emitting enough heat so i wondered if i could have fun.
The problem grows worse at the bottom of the chassis which is too hot to handle. After a few games I had played, I took the machine to move it somewhere and complained: I thought I had pulled out a baking sheet out of the oven. It’s not hot enough to burn, but it’s not something you want to touch if you find that you don’t feel any pain.
It is impossible to make any noise that the machine makes when the fans turn. This is noise – enough noise that you have to call your speakers to freeze or pick up headphones to bring immersion. This is dangerous for laptop work, but be aware that the system is up for grabs.
Another sign in the “improper” segment is the battery life, and even if you carry an 80WHr battery, it will not last long after it is removed. Our experimental battery test opens the video until the computer dies, with a brightness set at 65 percent and all battery-saving technology disabled. It can last for up to four hours and 43 minutes using Radeon images, which is all right in the gums. Obviously, while you can handle a few emails or browse while sitting in your bed, this is not a tool you can remove from the cover of a working day without any hassle.
One of the reasons Legion 5 Pro is compelling despite some of its flaws is its price, which is another factor. Lenovo has managed to outperform its competitors here, and it’s no surprise that it’s only been sold for a while. If you are looking for a machine from Alienware with similar specs (affectionately mentioned M15 Ryzen Edition R5 Laptop Player) costs you $ 1,900. On top of that, you’ll get a Ryzen R7 5800H (as here), a RTX 3070 with 8GB of RAM (as here), 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD (same … you get an idea).
If recording RTX 3070 photos is incorrect, you can select the files of Razer Blade 15 Base Model with a 15.6-inch FHD display, 10th generation Intel Core i7-10750H CPU, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. You should, however, pay $ 2,000 for the opportunity, which may not offend others. ASUS also offers the ROG Strix G15 – the entire AMD version we reviewed it for several weeks – and RTX 3070, buyer at $ 1,800. If you look for a machine in the $ 1,500-or-bracket, you can get $ 1,600 Razer Book, featuring a Core i7-1165G7 processor and Intel Iris Xe graphics. Or, $ 1,500 Acer’s Predator Triton 300 SE it has a Core i7-11375H CPU and NVIDIA’s RTX 3060 GPU, which seems to be compatible on all fronts.
Despite all the violence that has taken place over the past decade, we are seeing a new dawn of AMD-and the last chip that drives into a laptop game. This Ryzen 7 5800H is capable of hitting (choosing) small Intel chips on several benches, and you can expect it to be seen in many other machines this year. And even the richest consumers may be tempted by the high-end machines with RTX 3080, 3070 graphics here should not make you feel like a second citizen.
There is a lot to like about these machines, though the charms that are made to push on the tree are sure to be some of the best. Battery life is declining slightly, thermals can be repaired and repaired, and the website seems to be recovering from a five-year-old machine. But, if you put this on the desk, keep the input on and don’t do more than an obscure Zoom, does it matter?
