Some players have found it difficult to use the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, in part because of its size and weight. Although Sony has not released its official companion Microsoft Xbox Adaptive Controller, some people are trying to make it easier for others to play the PS5 game.
YouTuber Akaki Kuumeri products an adapter that allows players to use DualSense with one hand. 3D printed sticker jumps on the left fingertip. When placed on top (or thighs), move the whole body moving the thumb. The L1 and L2 buttons are taped to the right of the controller.
There is also a second, optional connector that also provides input on the D-pad. Therefore, hold down the Share button, players will be able to use all controllers with one hand.
Because DualSense is the same, Kuumeri says the connectors can be customized to fit another part of the controller. You just have to show the parts before you print them.
Kuumeri gave the adapter to competition for a one-handed steering design. You can download files and printing stickers for use.
The adapter can also be useful for players who often have no problem using DualSense with both hands. In the video, Kuumeri demonstrates acting skills It Takes Two, a co-op-only game, individually using stickers on two controllers. The combination can also give players a way to eat or enjoy a drink without hitting the pause button.
Kuumeri’s design will not reduce the risk for all players. Some may be tired of moving the guide around physically or may not have the ability to reach all four buttons on the shoulder with one hand.
