Tascam knows some pine musicians for ‘warm’ quality cassette recordings, and is well-suited to resurrect dead technology to meet their needs. The company has done explained The 424 Studio Master High Bias Type II videocassette for four-song Portastudio cassette recorders. Artists can record examples and analog music without having to search for missing tapes and complain about damage.
The cassette does not fit well. Tascam said it was using magnetic oxides to make a tape that was as close as “possible” to the items that Portastudios was supposed to use, but record holders may still need to “properly” adjust the cassettes for the 2021 season.
However, this is not just about attracting attention – to some extent, I am keeping the analog cassette in mind. Cassette production has taken place suffers from a lack of oxide from 2019, years later (continued) tape revival. Tascam realized that it was now the only company producing High Bias Type II cassettes. Although there are already tapes on the market, they are all rare and expensive.
