Jeffrey Epstein was one of those whom Leon Black told about the dangers of “kidnapping”.

Faced with what he described as “a coup d’état” by an old friend who accused him of rape, billionaire Leon Black said he had talked to his lawyers, his family, and just four other people.

One of them was Jeffrey Epstein, according to Black’s oath, co-founder of Apollo Global Management, which was presented in New York state court on Tuesday.

Disclosure adds a new dimension to the well-known relationship between Black and Epstein, a child molester who hanged himself in prison two years ago while awaiting trial on a charge of smuggling sex.

Black paid Epstein $ 158m for tax and technical advice on the management of his yacht and aircraft, according to a report by Dechert, a global law firm. Black resigned from his post in Apollo last March.

The new court also placed Epstein within a nearby group to whom Black explained the secret payment he was making to the woman who had given it to him. defendant she, in a court of law, raped her and then paid millions of dollars for her silent protection.

Black agreed to pay $ 9m to Guzel Ganieva since 2015, when he signed a “free and confidential agreement” at a meeting at the Four Seasons restaurant in New York in which he secretly wrote.

An available request from Ganieva’s lawyers asked the billionaire to provide a list of people he had talked to about the secret agreement. Black’s quoted sources said that, in addition to the three men, they discussed Ganieva’s “kidnapping” threats with another secretive investigator and Brad Wechsler, chief of Black Investment’s car. He also said he did not name his relatives or lawyers who had the opportunity to represent a lawyer.

Ganieva is seeking an undisclosed Black economic sanction for defamation, harassment and “gender-based violence”.

Lawyers for Black have it known Ganieva’s case is “a work of art”. The billionaire has filed a lawsuit against him, accusing Ganieva and her lawyers at a law firm in Wigdor of colluding with an anonymous financial adviser to try to tarnish Black’s reputation and commit fraud, extortion, and fraud.

Black lawyers have also asked the court to bar Ganieva from extraditing what they say “has no purpose other than to insult Mr Black without Epstein: it simply means that Epstein was a bad person, Mr Black must be a bad person. A bad person”.

In a petition filed Tuesday, Ganieva’s lawyers said Black’s findings were “false. [his] claims that any allegations about Epstein are baseless. ”A new swear word from Black was presented as a demonstration along with his actions.

A Black spokesman said that should not be given. “The illegal registration of Ms Ganieva’s lawyers is nothing but an attempt to tarnish Mr Black’s reputation and divert his interest in Ms Ganieva’s case,” she said.

Jeanne Christensen, a Wigdor colleague who represents Ganieva, said Black lawyers were the ones who gave the verdict his company was responding to.

“He can isolate himself [the motion] of course, ”he added. “Otherwise we will strongly oppose, that’s what we are doing.”
