Enter Google account, and you get 15GB of free storage space, divided into three main components – Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Images. Once you cross the line, you need to sign up for Google One plans, and it starts at $ 1.99 per month for 100GB of space.
Unless you are smart about how you use your free storage, and you don’t have a lot of files that need to be stored in the cloud, you can be within 15GB of the free room you are given. The methods and tricks you can use vary slightly between Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos, and we have shown them below. It is important to note that if you exceed 15GB of storage, your files will not disappear suddenly – you will not be able to add new ones (Google says you may not be able to “receive emails in Gmail either.)

Gmail can help you select unwanted emails.
Gmail via David NieldIndividual emails do not take up much space, except if you have had them Gmail account for years then you may find that they have started to save a lot more. One way to get rid of clutter is to check and delete old emails: Type “older_than: 1y” in the search box above Gmail to search for messages older than a year. You can change the year, or change the months if you want – “older_than: 3m” or “older_than: 6m” for example.
When your ‘older than …’ emails appear, click the check box at the top of the list on the left to select all of them, then click Select all the topics that are relevant to this search either (this may not seem like your search did not bring much results). Click the file Remove button (garbage cans) and selected emails have been deleted – or sent to the Trash folder for 30 days, then deleted.
Emails with larger connections can also take up more space in your Gmail email. In the search box, type “has: attachment bigger: 10m” to get messages with more than 10 megabytes (you can change this number in any direction if you wish). As before, click the check box on the left to select all the emails you have received, then click Remove remove them.
