Facebook will force users at risk of theft to be able to confirm two things

Facebook has taken steps to ensure that most readers are at risk of being hacked before losing their content to malicious theater. Social networking has changed Protect the app designed to provide additional protection for human rights activists, politicians, journalists and vulnerable users. In a press conference, Facebook announced that it would begin to require users of the app section to change the authenticity of the two devices.

The website will start implementing the new law in the coming months around the world – for US members, this requirement will take effect sometime between mid-February. Facebook reported that it worked to create subscriptions and to use the two features on its page “as controversial as possible for these groups of people by providing better user information and support.” It acknowledged that it would take time for all users to comply with this new law, as not everyone is actively using their platform. But Facebook and its parent company seem to be pleased with what they saw in the initial experiment.

Meta security chief Nathaniel Gleicher said:

“So far, it ‘s going well, we see more than 90% of people helping out before it is too late.”

Facebook first tested Protect in 2018 and presented it to American politicians before the 2020 US elections. It increased the volume of the app and opened it to many users afterwards — for me, I was locked in my account until I opened it. The site is now in the process of making the program available to more than 50 countries by the end of the year, including the US and India, where. many its readers are based on.

Gleicher said more than 1.5 million have signed up for the program so far, and 950,000 have already lit 2FA. He also said that 2FA is the most underused component of the platform, while only 4 percent of site users per month support it. However, there are no plans to shut down those outside the Protect program.
