Half of all motorcycles sold in Europe will have cars by 2025, indicating a temporary transport change accelerated by the epidemic, predicting one of the largest suppliers of electric vehicles in the region.
Claus Fleischer, chief executive of Bosch eBike Systems, said the sale of electric bicycles had exacerbated the epidemic as consumers discovered new ways to spend time and money.

“From our prediction, in the next three or four years, every bike in the major European markets should be an e-bike,” said the head of the group that supplies batteries, motors and bicycle controllers.
Bosch regional director predicted that prices for e-bikes would increase year-round year by a return to epidemics of 20-25%, down from a year-on-year increase of more than 40% in most European countries by 2020.
It brings with it the expected growth of two-wheel-drive drivers in the country, especially for people who want to travel as much as they can on a bicycle.
“We eliminate all excuses for not cycling. When you reduce your excuses, people tend to continue traveling, ”said Fleischer, whose main markets are Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland.
The cars are cheaper compared to the car, with an e-motorcycle price of between € 2,000 at an entry price of up to $ 10,000 than the few units Bosch offers.
After the urban tour, mountain biking and walking tours were the second most popular segment among bicycles.
In Europe last year, 4.5m e-bikes were sold – 34% more than in 2019 or one-fifth of all bicycle sales, according to the Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry (Conebi), trade association.
“The e-bike is the best-selling electric car on the European market,” said Manuel Marsilio, Conebi’s general manager.
The price of parts of European bicycles and other manufactured goods in Europe reached 3bn by 2020, but is expected to double by 2025, says Conebi.
Fleischer said bicycle chains were returning to Europe from Asian countries such as Taiwan, China and Vietnam. About 80% of the e-bikes sold in Europe last year were contracted.
However, he cautioned that the excessive size of electric bicycles is in line with regulations and infrastructure. Bicycles are considered to be similar to European motorcycles, which is why they are able to use walking bridges, but the companies are the steering wheel controllers to reduce the speed at which cars are cut.
“We have all the freedom and we have the bike,” he added. “This is the greatest need we have. We do not allow any decision maker to change this. ”
Fleischer said the lack of electricity at the moment will hamper production, though he would not say that this could affect the end of the year.
This is in contrast to the shortage of electronic devices that have disrupted the production of bicycles around the world.
