Google is making significant changes to its online system. Opens workspace (originally called the G Suite) for all Google account users, meaning you no longer need to have a business history to use some of them in Drive, Meet, Docs, Sheets and more. According to a press release, “now, all three billion users of the company, including users, customers, and academics have access to the entire Google Workspace.”
You need to open Google Chat in Gmail to support this, which honestly won’t feel like a big change since free accounts already had things like Drive and Docs. But Workspace brings things like smart tips in emails or documents, the ability to @ -mention other readers to add them to work and provide Google Docs, Sheets or Slides directly into your Meet calls.
While most of these are now becoming free, the company is bringing a paid version today called Google Workspace Individual. It guides small business owners and offers “preliminary feasibility, including intelligent reading services, professional video conferencing, customized email marketing and much more along the way.”
Google Chat starts out as Spaces
Google is not only opening the Workplace for everyone today, it is also revealing some new features. First, I change the Rooms in Chat (formerly called Hangouts). “In the summer, we will transform the rooms into spaces and create a simpler interface that allows teams and individuals to be at the forefront of all that is needed.” The one-page site will feature availability indicators, cultural features, “actions” and offer clear ideas and the ability to post a message.
In fact, it sounds like Google Chat is becoming more powerful in terms of performance, and even less so. It even offers more compatible tools than text messaging. Google also states that “Spaces integrate well with files and tasks,” allowing “all information, discussions, and project files [to] be straight. “This combination of themes can be modified across the board.
In some of the photos the company provided, it appears that Spaces gives you a left-hand section chatting with your co-workers while two-thirds of the window shows Google Doc in a joint layout. At the top of the discussion list, you have the option to view the discussion or switch to view Files or Tasks. You can also select another support group from the drop-down list at the top of the page, which can open up new conversations with its files and functions.
This is very good Smart Canvas that Google laughed at O / O, and is similar to the Microsoft Fluid Framework which has the same concept of putting all your tools in one operation.
Google Meet gets more Zoom
Video calling is on the rise, as the company continues to add features that other services such as Zoom and Microsoft Themes have already offered. Google Meet will find Support Stabilization, new editing and editing Calendar RSVP options. The Collaborative Approach, which was unveiled on Google I / O last month, will allow participants to access items such as polls, conference discussions, handshakes, Q&A, keywords and more regardless of the tool they are using. According to the company, “Companion Mode is available online as well as the Google Meet app which is coming in September, and will be coming soon on the phone.”
To help with the mix when we get back to work, Google allows people to view places in the RSVPs to Calendar inviting them to share if they can share a phone from a remote or conference room. Facilitators will adopt new reading materials that will allow them to remain silent and show participants, as well as prevent non-participants from presenting a meeting. They will also be able to stop chatting during meetings during the demonstration.
In the end, Google changes some of the security features in Workspace. It enhances customer privacy with new “Trust Rules” and Drive records. The latter allows administrators to “split files and use editing based on how they feel.” Finally, Google also claims to support fraud protection against malware at Workspace, too.
