Google now lets you adjust your own Voice function handles incoming calls. From today, you can stop the app from sending calls from individuals or groups of people to your connected phone number or voicemail. Individually, you can set a command that plays voice greetings for your contacts. And if you want to avoid making phone calls unless necessary, you can tell them to watch people.
Google says the new options allow users to order incoming calls in ways that are consistent with their performance. To start using the form, go to and click on the cog icon at the top of the form. Then click “Sing,” then “Select a command.” Note that on a mobile app, it is possible to see the rules you have already set; you can not create new ones – at least not yet.
Although it is known to be one of the longest running services on Google, Voice has received occasional attention from a major search engine in recent years. Today, the most recent updates that the company provided to Voice were turn off one of its most useful features. This has raised fears that Google may be suspending the service soon, but recent updates show that Voice has legs.
