Gogoro did not shy away from offering scooters with flexible batteries beyond existing markets like Taiwan, and it simply came together to support this. The travel company has signed The Memorandum of Understanding is a major fox for Foxconn to “support” the global expansion of Smartscooters. The two have worked together on automotive manufacturing, smart battery design and manufacturing, giving Gogoro more space to focus on manufacturing, technical development and distribution of their products.
The pair did not say when they expected their team to produce results. There was no further mention Gogoro bicycles.
Gogoro made a name for himself in Taiwan, but is slowly spreading his message abroad. It recently unveiled plans to expand India and China. The attraction, as always, is the battery-switching system that can deal with a variety of stressors – you just have to visit a switch to pick up a new power pack.
Foxconn is no stranger to helping EV developers grow. I am according to Fisker on the car ‘drawing’ for 2023, and is said to be making dealing with Volvo Geely’s parent. The e-scooter connection is really rare, however, and it shows that Foxconn is covering its base. Many in the automotive market waiting for car ownership to decline, and the Gogoro consortium could help Foxconn get better even if motorists drive their cars in favor of moped and ride side by side.
