FTC is suing NVIDIA for blocking purchases from ARM

Despite these claims, the FTC case is a serious problem for NVIDIA. The Commission will file such cases if it believes that the company is violating the law – approval may not be enough. It comes after the European Commission launched a procurement investigation in October. NVIDIA is facing inquiries from major regulatory authorities, and agencies may not approve answers.

As it stands, the NVIDIA competition is probably not fun. Qualcomm reportedly denied the allegations to the ARM agreement in conjunction with the FTC (among other organizations) for fear that NVIDIA may refuse to issue licenses. And heavyweights like Apple, MediaTek and Samsung also rely on ARM, it is unlikely that the whole market will be happy. At the very least, the lawsuit may have delayed the closure of the old 2022 NVIDIA agreement.
