Facebook is following up on those who published false news

[ad_1]

Facebook says it will who share a lot of false information. The company has issued new warnings that could alert users that telling others a lie can cause “their posts to go down in the News Feed for other people to see.”

To date, corporate sentiment has limited the number of registered and audited positions. But the pillars can go on for a long time before they are reviewed by fact-checkers, and there was little incentive for users not to share this. In the process, Facebook will alert users to the results of many false sharing results.

Pages that are considered frequently incorrect will include pop-up alerts when new users try to follow them, and people who regularly share errors will receive notifications that their posts may not appear in the News Feed for a reason. The information will then be linked to the content, and it will give users the ability to delete the message.

The change comes a year after Facebook failed to address the many rumors surrounding the coronavirus, presidential election and the COVID-19 vaccine. “Whether it’s the falsehoods or misinformation of COVID-19 and vaccines, climate change, elections or other topics, we are making sure that fewer people see flaws in our programs,” the company wrote in a blog post.

Facebook did not specify how many posts it would take to trigger a News Feed decline, but the company has also adopted a similar approach to pages that report false information. (This policy has been a source of controversy that Facebook executives have removed the “boycott” of celebrities last year.)

Researchers who investigate falsehoods claim that they are often the same people who cause untruths. For example, a recent report from the Center for Countering Digital Hate found that Most of the false anti-vaccines were shared by only 12 people.
