[ad_1]

New Denis Villeneuve video Dune was adapted from a 1965 book by Frank Herbert. TV writer Andrea Kail he says the new film is more successful than it once changed the story.

“It met everything I expected,” says Kail in Section 491 of Geek’s Guide to the Galaxy podcast. “It was exactly what I was expecting based on one of my favorite books of all time.”

Geek’s Guide to the Galaxy recipient David Barr Kirtley he agrees Dune it’s the first change. He said: “It is wonderful to have science fiction movies that people respect what they say. “In contrast to the 80’s, where they usually took a book and the director simply said, ‘I have a better idea than this crazy book,’ and it changed everything.”

Fictional Writer Raj Khanna enjoyed the film, but I wish it had included more of the rich world of this book. “A lot of amazing things were turned upside down — a lot of psychological stuff, by Drs. Yueh and his whole situation, and deeply on Bene Gesserit and Kwisatz Haderach, and the crew of the crew, ”he said. . “The things that weren’t shown a bit in the film disappointed me, because I think one of the great things about this book is the amazing things that come with it.”

Science fiction writer Matthew Kressel hopefully an expanded copy of Dune he can also reclaim some of his favorites from the book. They also like to see more Dune the sky in the next path to come Dune: Part Two. “This was Dune a movie I’ve been wanting for a long time, ”he says.“ And I’m excited about the next one. It was a long time to wait, but we waited a long time to finish wait another year or two. ”

Listen to the full interview with Andrea Kail, Rajan Khanna, and Matthew Kressel in Section 491 of Geek’s Guide to the Galaxy (above). And check out some of the highlights below.

Rajan Khanna on transition:

“I’m not the one who watched the movie. Although I love it Dune like a book, movie changes are often not important to me. I have a book to read, and the book has other things to do, and the film adaptation for me will always be a workout in ‘Oh, they changed it’ and ‘Oh, it’s fun how they did this.’ Sometimes it can be weird, but I’m not one of those people who says, ‘I hope he’s back Dune like a movie and I make it very good. ‘ So it comes in a game based on what I expect. If this was a bad movie, I would have been disappointed, but I would not have felt that I had been betrayed in any way, or that it had ruined my chances of having a good one. Dune change. ”

Matthew Kressel on the move:

“There was a part of the movie, maybe two-thirds or three-quarters of the trail, when I felt like we were just playing ‘chasing a mouse. It was like, chasing events, breathing, fighting places, chasing places, breathing, fighting. There was a point, around the time he went to the survey area, and Dr. Kynes he shows them the plants and explains that he wants to make a green Arrakis, when I was like, ‘This is cool,’ and immediately there was another fight … a little bit different in it because it went on for a long time. I think I want, at the time, an extra issue. “

Andrea Kail on character:

“It simply came to our notice then. [Paul] he becomes a man — not only taking his father’s role as Duke, but also leaving his mother’s authority. Because he says, ‘We have to get out of the world,’ and they cut him off, saying, ‘No. Our way has passed through the wilderness, ‘and they must admit. It explodes near the end as he and Chani look at each other and then at his mother. He knew that he was dreaming about this dream, and he realized that it was the girl he was dreaming about. They smile a little, then Paul leaves, and you see the subtle change in Jessica’s face from ‘happy’ to ‘rocky.’ And, of course, they don’t want to be with him. ”

David Barr Kirtley at Hollywood:

“I always thought every two or three months there was a great science fiction movie we could talk about, and there hasn’t been in the last two years, because of the epidemic. … That’s why I really appreciate how dangerous Hollywood is. It looks very powerful, but it could end if people don’t watch these movies and go to the theater. Denis Villeneuve and movies like this, and I just hope everyone can do what they can to help them, if you want things like this to continue. ”
