‘Do not look to the heavens’ and cry out with a star as opposed to the weather

The eagle soars the Earth, and despite warnings from scientists, almost everyone fails to think about it. It is the basis of Do not look up, The most recent film from Adam McKay on Netflix today. It is in line with the vague comments of his most recent Oscar films (The Big Short and The second), and a humorous joke from his original songs, e.g. Anchorman and Talladega Night. The results are inconsistent and slightly longer, but I am also fighting against the scientific, real-phobic that we live in today.

The eagle is a well-known symbol of climate change, the latest developments in governments dragging on its heels, the oil industry is becoming increasingly ignorant, and many people remain unaware of what is coming. Koma Do not look up it also describes how people are responding to the COVID-19 epidemic, a global catastrophe that has killed more than 5 million people.

The title of the film is a word used by the self-styled president (Meryl Streep) to make his fans wearing red hats look down, not at the bright comet in the sky that they can easily see in the sky. It’s hard not to be reminded of the politics of COVID-19, which has led people to reject its existence and demonic vaccination, all because of what they heard on Fox News or the Facebook group of their families.

After two astronomers (played by Leonardo DiCaprio and spunky Jennifer Lawrence) rushed to the White House with news of the impending destruction in six months, they were forced to wait. Do not look up sometimes it feels like they’re falling to the ground, especially when they’re staring at the stupidity of President Orlean’s careful followers. But the film is not afraid to criticize anyone, even its leading scientists. Both groups have difficulty explaining the meaning of their findings. And when the astronomer DiCaprio discovered his media footprints, he became part of the state-of-the-art media machine.

By the time the US government decides to do something about the comet – because it benefits the President, of course – wearing patriotic protests, as Michael Bay echoes the words of George W. Bush ‘deaf 2003 Mission Finished speech. I won’t spoil where the film comes from, but I look pretty spoiled by Bay Armageddon. One war hero and a giant rocket are all that the world needs to destroy, is it not?

Do not look up it’s not entirely successful – a comedy hit or miss, and can be very useful with a short and direct story. But the latter comes to a wall, sometimes reflecting on what I have seen in many disturbing dreams. If the world were to disappear within a few months, what would you do? What debt do we owe each other, like civilization? And what will it take to protect the world from a vicious vampire, who would delight and put people at risk for a few other things? Adam McKay has no answers. But his anger is something we all can understand.
