The Israeli cyber military posed threats to Microsoft and Google over trade, allowing governments to rob more than 100 journalists, freedom fighters and non-political activists around the world, new research they have found.
The anonymous player, who poses as Candiru, is one of Israel’s most lucrative cyber companies that often hires militants, and sells software that allows their customers to steal computers and mobile phones remotely.

“Candiru has tried to stay in the shadows since its inception,” said Bill Marczak, a senior at Citizen Lab. “But there is no opportunity for companies that run fraudulent transactions to sell spy software that is used against journalists, human rights activists, and government agencies.”
