Blue Origin casts a shadow on Virgin Galactic Richard Branson before taking off
On July 11th, Virgin Galactic founder Richard Branson, they can fly in the air log in to SpaceShipTwo to see how the company works individually. If you ask a Blue Fellow, however, Branson will not really get there. In several of and tweets, owned by space company Jeff Bezos compared what their New Shepard suborbital car could do with the potential of SpaceShipTwo. First on the list? The company says New Shepard was designed to fly over the Kármán line, where the rival car was not.
The Kármán line is the boundary between outer space and outer space as established by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale. It is defined as 100 km or 62 miles above sea level, and according to Blue Origin, is what “96% of the world’s population” recognizes as the origin of the outer space. Blue Origin is planning to give customers 10 minutes of flight and length that will reach the Kármán line. In the meantime, Virgin Galactic’s web page he says his planes will fly “about” 300,000 (57 miles) in height. This does not really reach the Kármán line, although it is much larger than what NASA and the US government define as the beginning of space (50 miles above sea level).
In addition to comparing the long distances of their vehicles, Blue Origin also made it clear that New Shepard has very large windows in the air. Also, New Shepard is a rocket, but SpaceShipTwo, according to Blue Origin, is a very advanced aircraft. The company released a comparison after Virgin Galactic planned Branson’s trip to Jeff Bezos’ airline – billions and his brother have boarded the first Blue Origin tourist aircraft scheduled for July 20.
