Apple TV 4K can use HDMI eARC to play any TV music on your HomePod

Apple can have it left the original HomePod earlier this year, but fortunately the company still supports some new features. If you have a HomePod and have picked it up The new Apple TV 4K, your speaker should make a better friend at home than ever before. As we have seen MacRumors, recently Apple TV 4K supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) and eARC standards (advanced ARC) on HDMI.

The implication of this practice is that Apple TV 4K can send all the audio from your TV to the HomePod (or HomePod stereo speakers). In the past, the HomePod could function as an Apple TV audio tool – but now, the Apple TV 4K can send all the audio from the TV wirelessly to the HomePod. Your string box, contractor, or other fixed box can play their music through the HomePod, making it an excellent companion at home.

To do this, simply go to the audio version of your Apple TV – from there, you can be sure that HomePod has been selected as your source. And that’s when you can enable Audio Return Channel (which is, surprisingly, known as beta). If your TV (or receiver!) Supports eARC, you’d better go.

While HomePod did not work well as a listening device when it was launched, Apple has been very helpful in integrating it with Apple TV. Last fall, Apple officially brought Dolby Atmos support to the HomePod, though this section does not work with smaller HomePod mini speakers. HomePod mini no longer works with new ARC tools. This is not surprising, since the small speaker is quieter than the original HomePod, making it less suitable for home design.
