Android 12L upgrade: Lots of other great upgrades, but is that enough?

Although Google is in its twelfth generation mobile phones, it soon looks like Android has left the tablets behind. Hell, though Google stopped making its tablets years ago, while other device manufacturers began to prefer Chrome OS over Android over larger devices. But it is Android 12 LGoogle is trying to fix some OS errors while re-launching the next generation of folders.

Why Android 12L?

Contrary to what Google releases once a year, Android 12L is back in its infancy to older versions of Android that received intermediate updates (or higher). One of the great advantages of Android 12L is that because Google doesn’t have to worry about integrating major updates as it does with its major annual updates, the company can focus more on what kind of features should be included (or not required).

Whose?

Google says Android 12L is a unique upgrade that should support big-screen devices, though the new ones will still go all over Android. Currently, Android 12L can be installed on a variety of Pixel phones (Pixel 3 and up, but not Pixel 6 or 6 Pro at the moment), Google’s Android Emulator, and, conversely, the Lenovo P12 Pro tablet – the only and third tablet. -an party tool approved for Android 12L to date. (It is also a great tool that I have been using to test 12L.)

When will Android 12L be ready for release?

At the moment, Google is in the middle of its experiment and development. Android 12L has already received two beta releases so far (depending on the device), with the third beta ready sometime this month before the next release. by the end of Q1 2022 (which ends in March).

Major updates in Android 12L

The new Taskbar also does a lot better

The most important feature in Android 12L is the new multiplayer function.

The most important addition in Android 12L is the new taskbar. Similar to the taskbar on computer OSes, the Android 12L Taskbar sits at the bottom of the screen and contains a number of easy-to-find apps (although I should note that for small devices like phones, the app can’t be randomly available).

Unlike most Android launchers, the recorder is replaced, which is why it only exists if you are playing a full-featured video or game. That said, you can make it disappear if you want to by pressing and holding. But when things get really fun it is that you can re-open apps directly on shared images by dragging the app icon from the taskbar to the center of your window. From there, you can easily adjust the size of the program window however you want.

This comes with the Android upgrade, in addition to the taskbar and the ability to drag and drop apps in visual-visual mode is close to “game modification” as we will find. It makes many tasks faster and easier, especially on larger devices such as tablets and mobile phones which often feel like they have more viewing space than they can use.

That said, there are some important restrictions because unlike Samsung’s One UI, there is no easy way to open three apps on simultaneously split images or create permanent pairs. But more than that, the taskbar comes out of five programs, which sound small. I mean just look at the extension room left and right where most apps can go. I hope that in the last installment, Google will increase the number of apps that can be down there, especially existing folders like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 for Samsung have a matching bar that supports up to eight images (including the trigger) easily.

For those who love to watch movies, Google recently added a new photo booth to the second beta version of Android 12L, so you can move from a small player to a lot of things with just a few clicks.

UI changes

Another big part of the Android 12L update is the OS’s UI switch on the big screen. For that reason instead of the one-piece notification tray that we like to see on phones, Android 12L has two sections that place notifications on the right hand side with your regular photos on the left. It’s a straightforward transition, but it makes for an extra display space on larger devices that is essential. And it’s similar to the Settings menu, though I have to say that Samsung’s OneUI has had this for a while in the main folders. Unfortunately for the P12 Pro, I realized that both types of information systems only work on the interface, which hopefully Google can respond to in the future.

For optimal use of devices with large screens, Android 12L also includes a modified two-component information tray.

Another smart change for the better is the ability of the Android 12L to move the PIN or access menu on the lock screen left or right, depending on where you recently touched the screen. It makes logging into your device faster and easier. Once again, Google still needs to make some changes. On the P12 Pro, the part that shows your pin appears at the top of the screen, which looks awkward (and fun) on the screen. Google has also updated the latest Software application with a new feature that keeps card-taking machines while making better use of the space adjacent to your display.

Finally, although not available on the P12 Pro yet, Google added a new “two-line” clock option to the locked door. So instead of finding the biggest clock in the middle of your show, you can choose a smaller clock at the top left.

Large screen optimization under the hood

Elsewhere, Android 12L has some nice features that are designed to make the apps look great on big screen, though the apps haven’t been updated in a while. For unplanned and developers, Google has upgraded the Android 12L system to make apps more self-contained and more responsive to a wide range of choices and formats. And with apps that don’t appear across the screen, Google added new letterboxing options including new covers and background settings. There’s also a new tool for using round corners on apps in windows, even as you look at and squared apps from our Android 12L test device, it’s up to the device makers to use as much as they want.

As a result of the change, the PIN entry menu in Android! 2l simply moves to the side of the last touch screen for easy access.

In the future, Google will also add votes to the Play Store to determine which apps have the most display features and support features such as. adaptive layouts and scaling options, which are especially important for foldables that can be switched between various screen updates and side parts on the fly.

Then there are other upgrades such as the modified M3 buttons (which look like small tablets) that are supposed to help call for the necessary permissions, new graphics (as powerful for quick changes) and clearer fonts for most important tasks. such as referring to “pin to top” to “split top”).

What Android 12L means on future devices

Google has made it clear so far that Android 12L is designed to support “the following Android 12 tablets, Chromebooks and foldables.” So even though you can see some changes on the phone, Android 12L is certainly setting the table for the next big smartphone. However, if we read between the lines, perhaps the biggest drawback is that Android 12L could announce the coming of Long-term Pixel Fold or return the first-party Google tablet. Google has not made any Android-based updates since Android 8.1 at the end of 2017, indicating that Google may have upcoming devices designed to showcase all the latest features in Android 12L.

Although it is already available on smartphones, the operating system in Samsung's One UI on the Galaxy Z Fold3 is capable of displaying eight photos of the app plus the trigger compared to only five in Android 12L.

But has it worked? Compared to vanilla Android 12, the new feature in Android 12L affects how you use and do more on the tablet or on other larger devices. With so many people working and studying at home, the days when the tablet could be a simple video or social network is over, and with Android 12L and Google approving this change.

However, it is not a good success, because compared to Chrome OS which already has a dedicated pen and the ability to run Android apps, Chrome OS tools often feel like it is worth dealing with daily productivity or training. , especially on devices with built-in or select keyboards. But for the first-generation mobile devices such as the twisted, Android 12L sounds great, though many of these new features are already available in other Android models like the One UI.
