The free version of Arturia Pigments 3.5 adds support for M1 and the disruptive component

Arturia has been working for the past few years with refurbishing and repairing its equipment. Whether it is a firmware upgrade to its hardware or its software plugins. Pigs, all of the company’s original (as opposed to its careful handling of advanced equipment), has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of these free updates. Today the company is launching Pigments 3.5 another important upgrade on what I have repeatedly said is my favorite at the time.

While this is not as flexible as 3.0, it still brings new features to the table. One of the highlights is that Pigments 3.5 adds compatibility with Apple M1 chips. This does not look very good, but it makes many manufacturers very happy that they have already jumped on the MacBook trains recently.

A major overhaul of the synth engine itself is probably the addition of a flexible interface. You can use one or two engines as a mod source and play on the results ranging from obscure objects to loaded with sonic freak out. Arturia redesigned its filters with three new colors (LP6, BP6 and HP6) that wash some of the winning frequencies on the plucks and twisted voices.

Arturia also added a new confusing section to the subsequent section. Although there have been options for soil supplementation in Pigments in the past, these are the most common choices. It has 16 different types with filters built to make everything from germanium fuzz of high quality guitars, to the most digital curves or soft extensions you can take from an old preamp.

And if you are not satisfied with the new voice options, there are also many wavetables being added, including over 150 new presets that demonstrate the power of these new features.

Finally, Arturia created tweaks in the UI that were supposed to streamline the process, including a single visual presentation.

3.5 Pigments is now available as a free upgrade to current owners. If you haven’t picked up Pigs yet, this is a great time, as it is time for sale for $ 99 until January 6. And Arturia also includes three new free banks – Bass Thermal, Trap Chemical and EDM Kinetic.
