Investigate laminated layers: Most waterproof jackets are referred to as two or three jackets. While the amount of fresh air may look good, you may want to think twice if you are out in the cold. The body heat can escape the jacket to breathe as easily as a water vapor.
Fine fabrics: Gore-Tex is still the gold standard when it comes to waterproofing. But every company is trying new ways to weave, waterproof technology for PFC in particular. See seams and zipper: If you want your raincoat to be longer than a poncho fun park, look for seams. The shoulders are a very unsafe place, because most outdoor sports require you to wear a bag that can wipe them off and destroy them. “The line design looks sexy, but over time, it doesn’t last long,” Williams says. Take care of your jacket: You can improve the quality of your life by taking good care of it. Wait for your jacket – don’t keep it tightly in a small shopping bag. If you notice drops of oil, dirt, or sunscreen, or you notice that the water is no longer on the surface, you should wash it. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. You may need a special cleaner – most cloth cleaners leave a residue that can interfere with DWR operation. Avoid softening, drying, washing, or drying.
