The Mars Perseverance rover collection he has fallen into a trap. NASA reports the guide stopped storing the samples after the debris had closed slightly karousel (a device that stores holes and passes through internal tubes). The pilot suffered a setback on December 29, but the mission team had to wait until January 6 to issue a drill removal order, release the robot arm from the carousel and take photographs to confirm the incident.
The barriers are thought to be stones that fell from the sample tube by slowly descending, slightly deterving the cleanliness of the carousel. Preservation is essential to NASA’s mindset to ultimately bring models into Earth.
This is not the end of the model meeting. NASA / JPL’s chief testing officer, Louise Jandura, said the carousel was designed to go with the garbage. This was the first time the group had removed the garbage, but Jandura said management had taken as much time as they could to remove the stones “systematically and systematically.”
This is not the first time Perseverance has faced problems. Rover failed to collect samples on his first attempt, when the Ingenuity helicopter had trouble processing on his sixth trip. As such, this illustrates the complexity of the mission – even seemingly groundbreaking work can be disrupted in the wrong environment. And while Mars is far away, repair is not easy or guaranteed.
